Bespoke

I assisted the designer Christopher Kelly in the making of this bespoke costume for Simon Costin, Director of the Museum of British Folklore. Chris was commission to create an outfit for the annual May day festival, Jack in the Green, which takes place in Hastings.

Inspired by the Greek god Pan, vintage tapestries were repurposed to create the long tailored jacket, and teamed with a bespoke shirt and velvet shorts. Styled with a vintage embroidered waistcoat the look was complete. The results can be seen in the portraits below, taken by the photographer Jennifer Pattison, who, after the festival collaborated with the makeup artist Natalie Sharp, along with Chris and Simon himself, to create these vivid and haunting images.
